Early today a battle took place in the eastern portion of the Shattered Waste near Sungate Citadel between two mercenary groups and forces the appeared to be from house Davion. One of the groups involved was MacIntyre's Bloodhounds who appeared to be working with the Davion Forces. The other mercenary was unknown and believed to be new to Antallos. Yesterday it was reported that the same group of mercenaries attacked a Bloodhound facility and drove away the defenders and a Black Knight heavy battlemech.
The battle today took place near and abandoned mining outpost. It appeared that the Bloodhounds were attempting to escort the Black Knight to a rendezvous with Davion forces near the outpost. The unknown mercenaries attacked with 7 battlemechs, two Partisan heavy tanks, and a Rotunda scout car.
One of the mechs in the attacking force was a Commando light mech captured the day before by the mercenaries. The Black Knight was escorted by a Bloodhound Blackjack battlemech and three Hedgehog heavy rovers.
The mercenaries seemed intent on capturing the Black Knights. There motivation for doing so is unknown at this time although the Bloodhounds are known for finding and selling lostech and the Black Knight may have had some lostech components.
The Davion forces consisted of; a Hunchback, Spider, Cicada, and Vindicator battlemechs, as well as a gunship.
The mercenaries captured the Black Knight after intense fighting. The only known casualties was a Stinger battlemech from the mercenaries and the commander of one of the Bloodhound's Hedgehogs. The pilot of the Black Knight ejected after his mech suffered heavy damage. After loosing the Black Knight the Davion and Bloodhound forces withdrew from the battle.
Although the mercenaries involved were unknown they were well equipped. Their forces included and assault class Battlemaster battlemech which implies that they must be very well funded.
