Sungate Mercenaries Raid Loco

January 21 2841:  Last week mercenaries from Sungate Citadel attacked the pirate base at Loco in the Southern Filn Lake region.  The mercenaries engaged with a lance of mechs and a medium J. Edgar hover tanks.  The pirates had a lance of mechs defending.

During the very first moments of the engagement the pirate leader's Warhammer was destroyed when it suffered an ammo explosion from a critical hit.

After loosing their leader the pirates went into full retreat.  The mercenaries pressed their advantage relentlessly trying to cut off as many pirate mechs as they could.

Only the pirate Trebuchet pilot managed to escape the battle.  The mercenaries captured a mostly in tact Centurion who was surrounded and cut off.

The pirates Shadow Hawk was badly damaged and it's pilot ejected and escaped on foot.  The mercenaries suffered no casualties and were only lightly damaged in the fighting.

Major battle near Sungate Citadel

 Sunday January 13 2841:
Just a few days ago forces of The Bloodhounds Mercenary Company attacked a manufacturing compound about 30 kilometers west of Sungate Citadel.  The compound was defended by mercenaries believed to be contracted with the city.  These mercenaries captured the compound from the Bloodhounds over a month ago and they seem to have been using it as a forward operating base.
The Bloodhounds attacked with two lances of mechs and a mixture of light vehicles and tanks.  The mercenaries defending the compound had two lances of mechs as well as heavy and medium tanks and infantry.
Much of the fighting took place inside the compound itself.  The Bloodhounds seemed to be using their light vehicles and fast mechs to overwhelm the defenders.
The Bloodhounds lost several of their light vehicles but not until after destroying a Javelin light mech and doing significant damage to other units defending the facility.  The mercenary pilot of the Javelin ejected safely but it is believed that he was captured by the Bloodhound trying to flee the battle.
The Bloodhounds also had a Wasp light mech disabled by combined mech and infantry fire but they still managed retake the compound.  The mercenary defenders elected to withdraw leaving behind almost a company of infantry and a heavily damaged Partisan tank.
This battle represents a major victory for the Bloodhounds after suffering a series of defeats at the hands of the Sungate forces.  It is uncertain what impact this battle will have on the conflict.  It certainly seems like an escalation not only in the size of the forces but in the determination of each side to do damage to the other.  Many mechs were heavily damaged in the fighting and several vehicles were damaged or destroyed.  We have heard that the two sides have been negotiating for a prisoner exchange over the last several days.  We will bring you more on this conflict in the southern Filn Lake region as it unfolds.

Davion forces raid settlements near Sungate Citadel

 January 7th 2841:
Davion forces have been raiding settlements near Sungate Citadel in the Southern Filn Lake Region for several days now attacking outlying farms and homes in the area.  The raiders have consisted of a lance of light and medium Davion mechs and a few hover tanks.
After hitting several locations in the area the Davion raiders were intercepted by the mysterious mercenary force that has been acting in the region.
It has been widely rumored that the mercenaries have been working for the government of Sungate Citadel and although those rumors are still unconfirmed this skirmish would indicate that they have an interest in defending the settlements in the vicinity of the city.
Davion forces in the area have been involved in fighting between the unknown mercenary forces and the Bloodhound Mercenary company on the side of the bloodhounds.  No one knows exactly why the Davion forces were attacking the settlements.  It has been reported that they were avoiding civilian casualties targeting mostly structures and heavy equipment.  It is possible they were trying to draw the mercenaries out of Sungate Citadel to prove that is where they were coming from.  If that is the case they were successful.

Two Skirmishes in the Southern Filn Lake Region

Sunday December 30th 2840:  Two skirmishes occurred this last Sunday near the southern end of Filn Lake.  Once again these mysterious mercenaries that have been working in the region attacked the MacIntyre's Bloodhounds mercenary company.  One skirmish took place near an abandoned refinery that the Bloodhounds seemed to be using to store equipment of some kind.

The mystery mercs attacked swiftly with a lance of light and medium class mechs consisting of; a Valkyrie, a Wasp, a Trebuchet, a Shadow Hawk, and two scout cars.

Defending the refinery was a Bloodhounds lance consisting of; a Phoenix Hawk, a Wasp, a Valkyrie, and  Locust.  There were four Mech bays at the old refinery that had not been there in the past.  It is believed that these were installed by the Bloodhounds in just the last few weeks.

No Battlemechs were destroyed in the fighting and neither side seemed to suffer any casualties.  It seemed that the mercenaries were attempting to get their scout cars close to the newly installed Mech bays most likely to scan them.  After the scout cars left the engagement the mercenary forces withdrew.  The Bloodhound forces did not pursue probably due to the damage they sustained during the fighting.

Another engagement took place at nearly the same time just outside the oasis village of Dustwater.  Davion and Bloodhound forces have been seen in the village for the last few days and it was strongly suggested that they were trading in Lostech.  Again the mysterious mercenaries attacked with a lance of mechs and several tanks and armored vehicles.  The mercenary forces consisted of: a Battlemaster, a Griffon, a Centurion, a Phoenix Hawk, four Vedetta tanks, two Partisan tanks, two Hertzers assault guns, and a Rotunda scout car.  Bloodhound forces consisted of: two Bushman LRM carriers, four Hedgehog scout cars, a Jenner, and a Blackjack.  There was also a Cicada, and a Spider both showing Davion markings.

As the mercenary forces approached the village their Rotunda raced ahead and attacked several unarmed transports parked on the edge of the village.  When the main bulk of the mercenary forced neared the outskirts of the village two more mechs, hiding in the woods, powered up and attacked the mercenaries.  The mechs were an Atlas assault mech and a Hunchback both bearing Davion markings.  This ambush put the mercenary forces into a retreat.  The mercenary battlemechs conducted a fighting withdrawal while their tanks covered them.  The mercenaries managed to escape with only moderate damage loosing only one Hertzer assault gun in the fighting.  The Bloodhounds also lost a Hedgehog scout car.  Our sources in the village told us that the light vehicles destroyed were empty and had no crews.  This looks to have been a planed ambush by Davion and Bloodhound forces.
